Behold a successful first month!
A little late to do a victory dance, but We have our first successful pledge for 2022!
These chaps were built some time ago and remained purple ever since. Soon after their inception, I came into possesion of 20 gorgeous Kakophoni that had previously been in the employ of Pete Dunn (Der H: “Fun Fact: The first outing for these 20 was at a previous Melos event in Holmfirth Gaming Centre. There I played Pete Dunn, and deployed his own Kakophoni to great effect!”) The 20 pre-painted Kakophoni became the core of my IIIrd Company Elite forces for some time, with my origional 10 lower quality kakophoni clearly standing out.
I love the scheme Pete used; the OSL is a little heavy for Petes modern sublime standards, but I’ve replicated it here with the airbrush. I like the incorporation of black armour panels, something ive repeated here but to a lesser extent.
They are variably armed with GW weapons, including blast masters, and the FW Cacophani, and have a range of MKIII, MKIV, Palatine Blade, and Kakophoni parts. The mix of these with the previous 20 should give a nice range of styles within the ranks of the IIIrd Company Elite RoW I frequently run.
The picture above shows the range of Kakophoni now in my force. On the Left we have two of the 20 Kakophoni from Pete. Purple and black armour, white panels, black trim, gold Accents, black weapons and blue OSL. My recent efforts in the middle, largely the same, with fewer black panels.
The two on the right are my old attempts. For some reason, I decided that gold guns and a gold patch on the backpack were needed! They now fit none of my army, (Brother Handro: “Isnt that purple different too…”) and so will require a repaint. I’m planning to go over the gold with black, and do some OSL, to then call it good. These Kakophoni are all GW weapons, so the hope is that I then have 20 FW, 10 GW, and 10 mixtures, to blend together into a whole orchestra of 40 Kakophoni!
Finally, It might be time to finish my Kakophoni Prime (from the Mournival Events Additional Rules; another model lost to the cupboard for some time, but who I feel will make a great addition to the IIIrd company elite in future events!
